ECIA GIPC Publishes China Tariff Avoidance and Recovery Process Document
The ECIA’s Global Industry Practices Committee (GIPC) has published a document to update members on best practices as companies in the electronic components industry respond to the shifting political landscape regarding China tariffs. The China Tariff Avoidance and Recovery Process Update document offers an outline of what the GIPC recommends to members about current practices in this arena. The document explains several pathways for tariff avoidance and recovery, with specific suggestions for how to evaluate this complex issue. The intent is to enable companies to compare their own current processes with identified best practices and make adjustments as required. Winning the War for Talent - Part 6 ECIA has partnered with the Association Education Alliance to bring you this webinar. The war for talent is escalating. Some organizations are ill-prepared to handle the challenges of an increasingly complex labor market, shackled by the “we’ve always done it this way” mentality. Others are thriving, armed with analytical insights and surrounded by allies, allowing them to snap up highly performing “impact players” and supercharge their growth. What kind of an organization are you? More importantly, what kind do you want to be in the future? Join presenter, Alex Chausovsky of the Miller Resource Group, for this engaging discussion. Standards - Call for Participation
ECIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) to produce industry standards that drive the manufacture, application and use of electronic component products and systems on a global basis. Participation in the ECIA standards programs is open to all individuals who are directly and materially affected by matters addressed by the work. The following documents are now in the public review stage and open for comments. EIA-456-A Metallized film dielectric capacitors for alternating current application EIA-468-C Lead taping of components in the radial configuration for automatic handling EIA 364-27D Mechanical shock (specified pulse) test procedure for electrical connectors EIA-364-123 High temperature exposure with contact loading test procedure for electrical connectors The ESC is presently specifically seeking additional participation in the User and General Interest category. This typically includes, but is not limited to, OEMs, ODMs, Contract Manufacturers, and Electronics Distributors (User), as well individuals who have expertise in these areas but are not affiliated with a particular company in the industry (General Interest). Please direct any questions concerning the programs to Ed Mikoski at 571-323-0253.
