The Channel Channel Podcast Features IBM Blockchain Expert

ECIA’s latest podcast features a lively discussion of the current and potential status of Blockchain implementations in the electronic industry. A lot is happening in this sector and ECIA’s connection to IBM has been of great benefit to help members climb the learning curve quickly.

Moderating this podcast is Don Elario, ECIA’s Vice President of Industry Practices. The discussion with IBM's Christophe Begue covers more details about the company's Blockchain solutions such as TradeLens and Trust Your Supplier, as well as how IBM clients are using Blockchain to not only solve industry challenges, but also develop new custom service offerings for their customers.

TPC's Special Survey on the Coronavirus

In response to the ongoing Coronavirus crisis, TPC has provided a report based on a survey of 6,000 individual, 85% based in China. Of particular note is roughly half of the respondents see production down more than 10% for C1Q due to the virus’ impact and another 40% see it down 6-10% vs. previous plans. Much of the workforce has not returned to work and many suppliers have not identified a return to work date. Review the survey report on the Issues and Stats page of the ECIA website.

Technology Partners Consulting, (TPC) provides independent third party consulting to electronics suppliers and financial services firms. TPC provides ECIA with a monthly report on a market trends survey administered by Glenn Hitchcock, TPC founder and president. The report provides results from a survey sent to 20,000 electronic industry professionals across the globe to assess their expectations for order activity and inventory levels.

The Electronic Component Sales Trends (ECST) tracks viewpoints on the sales of electronic components and the impact on end markets by surveying ECIA members, their peers and colleagues. The surveys sample individual opinions of knowledgeable professionals in the electronics industry on current quarterly performance and look ahead to next quarter’s expectations.

We would appreciate you taking 5 minutes of your time to answer the questions in the attached survey. You only need to answer for markets and products that you have knowledge of.  Your answers should be based on your own outlook of the overall market, not your company’s outlook.
